Expresiones del Corazón George T. Stagg Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo
Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Each year, the Sazerac Company, which owns Buffalo Trace, releases a collection of bourbon and rye known as the Antique Collection, which is highly coveted by whiskey aficionados.
However, the barrels can only be used once to make the whiskey, so why not age tequila in it? This añejo was aged 22 months in barrels that once held George T.

Tequila AñejoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged for at least a year in barrels not to exceed 600 liters. Any type of wood is acceptable, but ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Añejo tequilas are also known as "aged" or "extra aged".

Tasting Notes
"Stagg is typically the highest proof release of the Antique Collection, averaging around 135 proof. Though this tequila is only at 80 proof, it's HOT. It's dominated by caramel and toasted oak flavors, with only a thin presence of agave fruit character. Basically, it tastes like what it is - so if you're a bourbon fan and can't find a bottle of Stagg, this still tastes pretty much like a fruitier version of it."
