Flor de Caña rum is aged using the distillery’s patented Slow-Aging process. The natural temperature, ventilation and duration of the aging process of the rum ensures that no excessive flavors or aromas are added to the final product. The Centenario 25 is aged for 25 years in charred, white oak barrels previously used to mature American bourbon whiskies.
Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".
"This rum shows a deep amber color in the glass. The aroma has a backbone of menthol that carries notes of vanilla and toasted wood. There's a fairly strong black cherry cough syrup flavor underneath the considerable and typical oak influenced flavors. The finish is long, but not as complex as one would hope, considering the price."
