Victory is Forty Creek’s 13th annual limited edition whisky released in 2019 – a tribute to the War of 1812 battle called the “Engagement at the Forty” fought close to the distillery. The whisky blends a base corn whisky with rye. Half the blend receives a wood treatment where two toasted vanilla wood staves are added to the mature barrels for a two-month top dressing. A small amount of the distillery’s 1999 Villard Noir Port is added for balance. Available across Canada and some US states.

DISTILLED IN CANADA AND AGED IN BARRELS FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS; OFTEN (BUT NOT ALWAYS) CANADIAN WHISKIES ARE BLENDS OF CORN, BARLEY, AND RYE WHISKIES WHICH WERE DISTILLED AND MATURED SEPARATELY. TRADITIONALLY, CANADIAN WHISKEY IS CALLED “RYE”, ALTHOUGH NO MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF RYE-GRAIN WHISKY IS REQUIRED IN A BLEND.

Tasting Notes

"Orchard fruits explode on the nose like a cannonball with sweet banana custard, children’s vitamins and tart apple. The creamy palate is rich with vanilla spices, toasted oak, dark fruity plums complemented by dry rye spices and chocolate powder. Victory is a blend designed with firm and interrelated flavors. Oak tannins are accentuated mid-palate with a finish brightened by citrus fruit rinds layered over the developed flavor profile."
