Four Gate Batch 4 Split Stave
This expression is composed of 2 Kentucky bourbons. One is made from a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley that was matured a minimum 5.5 years. The other is made from a mash bill of 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley that is matured a minimum 12 years.
The bourbons are initially matured according to their age statement in new, charred American oak. They are then combined and matured for an additional 5 months in a "split stave" barrel that is constructed from #2 char, #4 char, and medium toast staves. It is bottled at cask strength, non chill-filtered, at 57.8% ABV.
