Frapin VSOP Grande Champagne Cognac
Cognac
Frapin // Grande Champagne , France
Frapin is a single estate cognac house in Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac region, where the Frapin family has grown grapes for over 750 years across 21 generations. The estate spans nearly 600 acres of Ugni Blanc vines, with distillation taking place on the lees in copper pot stills.
This VSOP is aged roughly 10 years, moving from new to older Limousin oak barrels known as roux to allow extended aging without excessive cask influence. It is sold in a bottle modeled on a 16th century design.
