Garrison Brothers Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey

Oak and almost hay smell on the nose. Oak leather and Carmel/syrup on the palate. Very light almost no burn or spice makes for very easy to drink. Not the most complex flavors but a good sipping bourbon

Spent 3-4 days tasting this and giving it a chance. I’m a long time Texan, so I yearned for something special here. Absolutely not worth $80 by any stretch of the imagination. Tastes young, hot (only 94 proof) and like smoky hay/cornbread. I’d not purchase this at $30. All other expressions of GB are better due to longer aging. Balmorhea + Cowboy 22 are great, but only if you have a spare $200 sitting around. I’d buy those at $50-70 happily. GB does have incredible marketing and charismatic staff!

First sniff has earthy notes with light honey scent. First sip starts smooth with notes of buttery toffee and caramel. Finishing with a spicy grain finish with notes of licorice and cinnamon with a lite corn aftertaste.

Tastes like an old peanut butter sandwich, or like a horse stomped on a bunch of cow pies. But I love it
