George Dickel 8 Year Bourbon

Taste...Huge huge huge vanilla and caramel, banana, strawberry syrup, tobacoo and a whip cream boom... Nose... Raisins and leather. Clean pine as well. Stringent almost. Color... Slightly copper with an amber hue.. Overall... This banana split, chewy toffee, and graham cracker opening, is followed by hints of tobacco and leather. With such complexity, and the 8 years of time well spent, and well you've got yourself a gigantic winner... 5 out of 5 all day at $38.00 out the door tax included...

The nose starts off with hints of peaches and cream and then moves into baked apples with a light sugar coating. The Dickel gummy/vitamin note is present at the front of the palate, but then fades into a surprising bit of spice towards the back. Overall a nice full sip that does differentiate itself a bit from the normal Dickel lineup but not enough to make you forget you're drinking Dickel.

Heavy vanilla with sweet aftertaste and little burn at 90 proof

Nose: vanilla, caramel, toffee and peanuts. Taste: caramel, all spice and peanuts. Finish: good amount of caramel that transitions to peanuts with a good bite at the end.

Found while visiting family in Chapel Hill,N.C. Nice surprise. A little, very little, ice opens the sweetness up front and the rye on the end. Not "full", but not thin in texture. Hopefully bourbon will migrate north to northern Virginia. We have all of the other Dickel products.
