George Dickel 17 Year Distillery Reserve (2016 Release)
Tennessee Whiskey
George Dickel // Tennessee, USA
Eighty long forgotten barrels of bourbon were quietly maturing for 17 years in the back of a single-story warehouse, just waiting to be discovered by Master Distiller Allisa Henley. Once found, they were bottled as George Dickel Distillery Reserve 17 Year and released in June 2016.
It's made following the brand's standard corn-heavy recipe, with a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley, and charcoal mellowed after distillation. Your best bet of finding a limited edition 375ml bottle will be at at the Cascade Hollow Distillery Visitor's Center in Tullahoma, Tenn.

Tasting Notes
"After 17 years of ageing in Tennessee, one expects quite a bit of oak from George Dickel's Distillery Reserve. It delivers with mellow notes of oak and deep, mildly smoky notes of charred oak. It's a very woody whiskey with very subdued spice, making for a straightforward and enjoyably gentle dram. "
