Reviewed August 16, 2020 (edited June 16, 2021)I’m just a dabbler in scotch, not a connoisseur in any way, so I’ll just say this: this bottling is smoother than a baby’s cheek. Almost no alcohol burn, with the complex “scotch flavours” that usually come with the expressions redistilled in another spirit’s cask.45.0 CAD per Bottle -

Reviewed August 15, 2020 (edited December 22, 2020)Are port finishes the best thing to happen to whisky since Roosevelt got America’s head out of its own ass? I’ll let you be the judge. Scratch that! I’ll be the judge because it’s my review. Port + whisky = Phoebe Cates emerging from a pool. Drink it in and release a quart or so. Enjoy! -

Reviewed July 17, 2020 (edited March 28, 2021)The nose is a surprisingly boozy burn at only 40%. There is bitter cherry, tawny port barrel. A little banana. There is an almost chemical lacquered wood, that for a moment manifests as pool chlorine. The deeper the inhale, the more barrel char that comes through; the alcohol is not camouflaged. Taste is less tawny port and more sherry/cherry liqueur. Bitter/puckery barrel tannins. It's a little saccharine and had a sweet, syrupy taste and texture. There isn't really any dry balance, but it's not this Scotch's responsibility to be balance. Stewed apples. The finish is a thick, syrupy cherry-juice sweetness. Strawberry jam. A mild prickly candi-sugar spiciness. This is going to be a hit for people who are iffy on Scotch but who are into Brandy or Cognac. At $25 it's a good value.24.99 USD per BottleLiquor World of Syracuse -

Reviewed June 25, 2020 (edited October 14, 2022)The nose is fruity and scotchy with a faint hint of rye tartness and a nice waft of vanilla. The palate is nicely spiced with a bit too much alcohol. There are some decent fruits in here too. The finish has a nice amount of syrup on it. There isn't a ton going on, but the flavors are pretty good and it's sippable in a hedonistic way. It doesn't have an aggressively young taste even though it isn't all that complex. There's something a bit off, but it in no way ruins the experience. It's just a bit bland with a somewhat bitter bite. This is surprisingly good for being such a cheap Scotch.23.0 USD per Bottle -
