The nose is thick strawberry jam with a burnt characteristic, almost like it was toasted or part of a pastry. But it's also heartier than expected. Almost reminds you of breakfast food or omelets.
The taste adds sweet-smoked cherry to the jam with some weird funk floating around the edges. Relatively little finish, but the front end sure packs a flavor wallop. Would make a good breakfast whisky. Not quite substantial enough for dessert.
Fruit, chocolate, tea and spice on the nose. Fruit takes over on the palate with some wood and spicy burn in the middle. More wood comes on the medium long and warm finish. A bit of a soapy aftertaste, which is odd. Nice oily mouth feel throughout. Not outstanding, but not bad.
