GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 1

Nose: nuts, a touch of caramel and a noticeable influence of the sherry (but not too much). Some oak as well. Mouth: Punchy and powerful. The 58% is felt but is not overpowering either. Not very sweet and quite malty. Spicy as well Medium to long spicy and warm finish

Delightful on the nose strong, rich sherry notes. The body is also full of sherry - very strong sherry body, but not overly sweet, it has a nice balance. I get raisins and wood, but the wood is not too strong - it sort of hides behind the sweeter sherry notes. I get a bit of vanilla and a puff of smoke to round out the sherry. This is a rich, excellent dram.

This is the essence of sherried malts - so aromatic and unique... a must try for all PX fans but also a great start for those who are not yet convinced. 5* [WNF 2019]
