GlenDronach Original 12 Year

Lovely sherried color. Malt, vanilla, sherry richness, and a whiff of spice on the nose...and even a tiny little bit of charred wood. A rich mouth-feel, with a taste full of dried fruit, oaky vanilla, and burnt sugar, with woody notes at the end.

Beautiful, in my opinion vastly superior to Macallan 12, more rich, more interesting, only very difficult to find in Colorado for some reasons. Edit 1/31/18: finally found a bottle in CO, the prices went up but even at $59 it is worth every penny. I am afraid to say it is so far my favortie scotch, even compared to older or rarer drams I was fortunate to try. It is complex, fruity and savory at the same time. It just hit all the right spots and it is very rich, never bland, the burn is right, it coats the mouth just the right way, I cannot stop praising it.

Much sherry and dark fruits at the nose, a bit leather, nice roughness. Sweet at the palate. Medium long finish. Less smooth than the Lasanta but great value for your money! 4/5
