This whisky is almost great because sometimes you are keen to drink sweet whisky, sometimes you are looking for something spicy. Glendronach original gives your both. This is a nice masterpiece of a cherry maturation style whisky, but if you are looking for something peaty, or a strong character you need to keep on searching.
In the nose is really sweet - sometimes it’s too much sweet, but if you like the Sweet drums, it is definitely a good choice.
Sherry maturation is really dominating with raisin, nutmeg, cinnamon characters. You can also find vermouth like characters (this is what I didn’t like, sometimes I find it too harsh)
On the palate, exactly the same, with some bitterness (and very slight chocolate if you are really I want to find this test component). We can say the taste is absolute in harmony with the nose, on the other hand I miss something extra.
The finish is long enough leaving delicate oaky, sherry smoothness in your mouth.
