Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve

My first impression is that this is just like the Glenfiddich finished in IPA casks. It seemed more like marketing than anything else. Not as much bourbon character here on the first few sips. After my pallette adjusted, I could get the bourbon notes underneath the smokey scotch.

Not an overdone char like Johnny double black but definitely there. An overall solid scotch and probably great if you're really into the char/bourbon crossover. I'm more of a traditionalist but this is a good move for them in the American market.
