Glenkinchie 12 Year

Really strong burn, might be because the bottle was almost empty. could have been there a while.

It‘s good

Full bodied and sweet nose, with a hint of spice. Full flavor with not too much spice going down - but not as much sweetness and not as smooth.

marshmallow and meringue, a sweet whisky with a slight custard flavour adding some depth. the spirit is late and punchy, undermining the delicate flavours slightly. easy drinking and probably great in a cocktail but not enough complexity to really savour. adding water helped but detracted from the sweet notes.

Recommended by barkeeper at Doctor’s Pub near Edinburgh U. I did ask for a local scotch but disappointed after a week of tasting in Speyside. Light, citrus and a little grass but not complex. Recommend moving up the price scale.
