Tasting Notes
"The nose is rich and powerful, with a major rancio influence, revealing dusty, cobweb-filled cellars and even a distinctive, well-marbled blue cheese. There's raisins and prunes, dried fruits drizzled with clover honey, and shoe polish. The palate is oily, with a salinity-drenched funkiness. You'll also find floral notes of violet and chrysanthemum bud along with an herbal and menthol side with pine needles. It's backed up by leather, sandalwood, sour cherry, kola, and tobacco leaf. A super lengthy finish unfolds in layer and layer, showcasing candied orange peels and citrus zest, faint peat smoke, ginger and Christmas spice, and mulled wine. A staggering achievement to have a whisky this old be this well put together."
