Grangestone Highland Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish

Golden, slightly orange in color. The aroma makes it clear this is a Sherry finish. Other undistinguishable floral and fruity notes come through as well. Starts with sweet apple notes which gives way to a pleasant oaky flavor. The finish adds some slightly pepper notes and a touch of bitterness. A touch of water opens it up slightly and allows the fruity note to play a little more with the oak, but doesn’t really reveal much new. Pleasant, drinkable, but not outstanding. I guess, about what I was expecting.

I get sherry but not a lot else. No complexity. Wouldn’t buy a bottle but would have a drink of it if given to me.
