Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon

Very fruity up front with a smooth finish.

Nose has cherries, apples and oak. First sip is smooth but there is a bitter undertone. It almost tastes like an Eagle Rare gone bad. I can’t justify the price rage when there are other Buffalo Trace products for cheaper. A good pour but I wouldn’t buy it.

Very smooth. Vanilla forward. Slight burn at the end. Very mild

Vanilla. Pleasant. Light cherry. I think it’s better than Blanton’s. Palate is light but pleasant too. Decent heat for proof. Would recommend. I use the rating scale below. Distiller uses a scale of 5 and I use a scale of 10, but I’m sure you’re not too drunk to do the math! 1. Disgusting - So bad I poured it out. 2. Poor - I wouldn't consume by choice. 3. Bad - Multiple flaws. 4. Below average - Not bad, but many things I'd rather have. 5. Good - Just average. 6. Very Good - Better than average. 7. Great - Well above average. 8. Excellent - In a league of its own. 9. Incredible - An all-time favorite. 10. Perfect

I really enjoy this bottle. Yes, the proof is low. However, its sweet and soft, providing a great sipper when you just want a mellow and easy to drink pour that isn’t a proof bomb. I like to warm up my pallet with this dram before I work into something much higher proof like a bookers or smoke wagon.

Solid bottle. A good amount of cherry. Flavorful for the low proof. But don't pay secondary for this. Retail at around $50 is even too much.
