Havana Club Añejo Blanco

Havana Club Añejo Blanco is one of the most intense of its kind. The matured white rum impresses with its powerful character, which is fresh and sweet at the same time. Notes of vanilla, cherries and a trace of cocoa shape his taste Its name comes from the natural aging process (Añejo) - spanning at least two years in old oak barrels - and blanco for white, since it's been filtered several times. Its aroma is fresh and multifaceted with notes of vanilla, cherries and a trace of cocoa. Its tint is not completely clear, but subtle sunny, if you will. This is due to the maturity through which this Havana Club develops its lovely-fruity taste. Still in the finish, sounds of sugar cane - a heavenly rum for those who like good drinks.

$17 on sale in NC and with a cork! I don't really drink silver or blanco rum. I bought it to make Bicardi cocktails.(They were fantastic!) N - heavy with chemicals...acetone, nail polish, heat...nothing else really...maybe some vodka notes....??? P - sweetness, smoothness, the sugar is VERY hard to define...it almost tastes like micro distillery vodka mixed with simple syrup, tailing traditional rum notes. F - more sweetness, medium finish with no harsh aftertaste...a bit of spice late. Overall very good for what it is. I DID NOT like the neck pour. After it has aired out...its really "good". However, I bought it for mixing. It is so docile and un-offending that I am afraid it might get lost in rum cocktails...since it is free of the rum flavors. For my money, I will use Plantation 5 year and deal with the cocktail not being "clear". Bicardi Silver is a pretender compared to this. I wish someone in college would have bought this instead of the other...

Lots going on. Hints of lime and vanilla

Some fruit, a noticeable finish of vanilla, but overall not too exciting. I found it disappeared in drinks. Not for me personally. I'd like more character.
