Richard Hennessy founded Hennessy in 1765. Richard was actually born in County Cork, Ireland. At the age of 20 he joined the Irish Brigade and fought for King Louis XV of France.
After serving in the French army for 12 years, he settled in the Charente region where he became involved in the eau de vie trade. This bottling was first created in 1996 and is comprised of eaux de vie ranging in age from 40-200 years. It is bottled in a hand-blown Baccarat crystal decanter.
