It’s been a week since I tasted this at a bar, so I won’t give detailed notes.
Great balance between sweet and oak. It was vanilla pudding on the initial taste with an oaky finish. One of the better bourbons I’ve had lately. There’s some lingering cinnamon spice on the plate. Overall it was pleasant experience. If I found a bottle at retail, I’d snag it.
Crème brûlée and brown sugar hits up front. Menthol and grape soda quality on the mid-palate. Finishes bone dry with deeply rich oak and more hits of grape soda. Solid hitting Bourbon.
It’s satisfying, but just doesn’t serve my palate. I get tons of pine wood and overly steeped bitter black tea. For whatever reason single barrels usually aren’t my favorite.
