Reviewed June 12, 2022 (edited August 3, 2022)Dale Earnhardt Jr's High Rock Vodka (Made by Gatlinburg, TN's Sugarland Distilling. 7X Distilled with a pass through Sugar Maple Charcoal as a nod to TN's Lincoln County Process). Sugarland is known for its vast lineup of Moonshines, both plain and flavored (Banana Pudding anyone?), and a growing stable of Celebrity Endorsers (Chipper Jones, Cole Swindell, Dale Jr, and various "Appalachian Moonshiners" of some repute). *NOSE: Floral with Hints of Citrus, Sweetness, and Ethanol. *PALATE: The Palate is Silky with Light Sweetness (think the aftertaste of a pink SweetTart) and a hint of Char (thanks to the pass through Sugar Maple Charcoal). A little Bite on the finish from the 88 Proof leaving a Light Mineral Tingly Aftertaste. *VERDICT: As Celebrity Endorsements go, you could do a lot worse than Dale Jr. Love the Higher 88 Proof (a sly nod to his car numbers for his Cup Career) and the homage to Tennessee Tradition with the Sugar Maple Filtration. Bonus Points for the Sub-$20 price tag, as well. I like my Vodkas to have some character for Neat or OTR sipping, while still being neutral enough to perform well in Savory, Tart, or Sweet Cocktails. This foots the bill across the board.19.0 USD per Bottle
