Highland Park Odin
Single Malt
Highland Park // Islands, Scotland
The last of the four releases under the Valhalla Collection is Odin released in early 2015. Odin, in Norse mythology, is a complex god. Ruler of Asgard and father of Thor, he is associated with war, sovereignty, poetry, and wisdom.
In fact, he is such a seeker of (and giver of) knowledge that he gave his eye in exchange for a sip from the well of Mimir, a magical well of wisdom. This single malt is 16 years old, bottled at cask-strength of 111.6 proof.

Tasting Notes
"Lots of sherry influence on the nose with dried fruits and a little smoke peaking its head out. If you add a couple of drops of water which I suggest (much more isn't called for), sweet smoked meats come to mind, like bacon covered in maple syrup. The body of the whisky then shows a soft fruit-filled center. The finish is slightly bitter with spiced dusted walnuts. This would make a great nightcap."
