Reviewed August 25, 2021Rating: 15/23 N: Sweet caramel with apricot or tangerine. Light grassiness with maybe a hint of light mint. No cheese is left from the raw distillate at this point. Some nice depth, but not a lot of individual scents. Some spices. Kind of vanilla floral too. P: Sweet caramel that's in the stewed agave realm, with a little tangerine. Some barrel spices. A fair bit of nice grassiness with a faint hint of menthol. It's not super complex, but reasonably deep with some nice fullness and balance. A very typical - but good - sweet tequila profile. Prickly spices that remind me of the barrel. I do still get some of that cheese, but it's much diminished. F: I get more of that stewed agave here. Less sweet with more vegetal character than before. An occasional zing of grapefruit - or maybe just lime. Very very faint cheese. - Conclusion - This might be my favorite Insolente so far. It's more typical, but in a good way. It's less interesting than the reposado by far, but it's also far less weird. Because of the the trade-offs, I'd put them on about the same level. I'm looking at 14 or 15 here and landing on 15.50.0 USD per Bottle
