Reviewed August 26, 2022 (edited January 6, 2023)The most unique bourbon I’ve had. Pungent, potent; notes of sweet bread, crème brûlée; nutty on the nose and palate almost like a fine cognac. Can’t wait to get another bottle of this!! -

Reviewed March 28, 2022 (edited November 9, 2022)Color: Chesnut / Tawny Nose: Maple Syrup | Brown Sugar | Orange Zest | Caramel Wonderfully aromatic and inviting. Evolves over time but has notable maple syrup notes. Palate: Light to medium mouthfeel. The palate is very different from the nose. The brown sugar, syrup sweetness noted on the nose does not come through. Somewhat muted palate with slight notes of baking spices and oak. Heat slowly develops and leaves quickly. Finish: Heat dissipates quickly along with the notes on the palate. Nothing bad here but also not very memorable. -

Reviewed February 12, 2022 (edited February 18, 2024)The nose is a little funky, but the most prominent note for me is cornbread. Maybe a little bell pepper or even jalapeno. A little sweetness is there, but it's kind of funky. The palate continues with some funk, but the sweetness shows up more on the back end. The finish is my favorite part and lingers a while with really pleasant sweet flavor, with maybe even a little licorice. It's weird and different and distinctively Texas whiskey, but it works for me. Thank you for the sample, @ctbeck11 I already put a feeler out on a FB group if there is someone who'd be willing to trade for a bottle of OWA. -

Reviewed January 31, 2022 (edited August 12, 2022)Ironroot Harbinger 115 Oka, Cherry and Vanillas on the nose, very inviting – 8 Rye Spice, citrus, oak and cinnamon on the palate – 6 Rye spice with undertones of oak, pepper, peppermint, very tannin-e – 7 Overall: 6.5 Long Finish, different, worth trying, but not keeping this on the shelf. I’d rather drink Smoke Wagon.
