Jacob's Pardon // Indiana, USA
Jacob's Pardon is a brand founded by the Taub family in honor of Jacob and Abner Taub - whiskey makers and bootleggers who were caught and incarcerated during Prohibition in 1929. President Franklin D. Roosevelt granted them a pardon (the document survives) before they went on to found the American whiskey blending and bottling company Baltimore Club.
That emblem is on the packaging of this single barrel release, which was selected by spirits expert F. Paul Pacult for the Taub Family co. It's a throwback style of light whiskey from MGP, consisting of 99% corn whiskey and 1% barley malt, aged 15 years in used American oak.

Tasting Notes
"Cashews and blood orange are the dominant flavors of this intriguing, full-bodied whiskey, with more orchard fruit (pear, golden apple) mixing with caramel and vanilla in the background. It's "light whiskey" in terminology only, as it is so rich and almost chewy on the palate, with not much of a burn despite the proof. "
