community rating

3 out of 5 stars
( 2 )

Like most modestly priced Scotch, James Alexander Blended Scotch is a blend of unknown amounts of grain and malt and aged for an indeterminate amount of time. As it is a Scotch whisky, we know it is at least 3 years old. This product is also known as James Alexander Red Label.

Tasting Notes

"The nose is full of soft grains and ethyl alcohol. The palate is quite prickly, if not somewhat abrasive. There's a lingering lemon tartness and light maltiness, but otherwise this is on the lower end of your typical budget blended scotch. Add lots of ice and club soda and serve to the cantankerous highball lover in your life."
