Reviewed March 27, 2023 (edited March 28, 2023)Big whisky companies are trying to appeal to younger consumers. Whisky has historically been considered a drink for people who are a little older, who have more money to spend, since whisky tends to be expensive. We have already seen Glenmorangie X, for mixing and now we have this Johnnie Walker Blonde; specially made for cocktails. I believe it is more expensive than a JW red label, so that makes no sense at all, but here it is, a lovely looking bottle. Bottled at 40%abv, golden color. On the nose, it is very gentle. Apples, sider and honey. Sawdust; it is actually very dusty. Tobacco leaf, stewed apples. Almonds and amaretto liquor. On the palate, Lots of honey. Bitter hay and salt. Very light and grassy. Aftertaste is the best part. An amazing hazelnut taste. Saltiness. Short but tasty finish. Crazy good chocolate and hazelnut. Overall, this is actually pretty good, and it is a hundred times better than a Johnnie Walker Red label. I believe it is also more expensive, which is a complete conundrum for me, since this is marketed and sold as a drink to be mixed in cocktails. Fairly nice, with a price that is not good, my score for this one is 80 over 100. -

Reviewed December 4, 2022N: Alright, this is a cheap weird one that takes a strangely wild ride. It starts off with a perfume-like new carpet smell but breaks (after sitting a moment) into the fruit and wheat notes, light tropical tone of pineapple and coconut rum, honey, cereal notes. T: acetone punch at first but then takes a right turn and transition into a light sweetness of fruit and coconut rum with marshmallow? And then promptly zags a hard left turn into a weird finish of herbal and floral perhaps? It’s a mixer style scotch for sure. That’s it. -

Reviewed June 19, 2022Mini bottle b/c it was near the register and I’d likely never buy a bottle of this. Ehhh on the nose; grain, ethanol, some melon, a dab of honey. On the palate it’s lightly honeyed barley and shrimp shell. And that’s it. Not incredibly offensive but incredibly boring. I’m glad I only got a mini.Total Wine & More -

Floral. Whisky suave e sem complexidade. Olfato: doce, quente, baunilha, trigo, boa correspondência com o olfato. Amargor perceptível e suavemente perene, citrico pixando a laranjas amargas/toranja. Paladar simples e quente. Finalização: curta, doce e amarga, com destaque para o amargor de laranjas amargas. Impressões gerais: whisky extremamente simples mas que se aplica muito bem ao seu propósito.
