Johnnie Walker Black Cask

This is a great value everyday sipper. JW achieved its objectives with this one. Smoke is dialed way back. Go for Black if you want more. Otherwise nice vanilla and caramel, and a surprisingly nice mouthfeel. It’s very approachable. I gave it a 4 for value. I’ve paid a lot more for worse. It’s terrific for the price.

very oily, slightly earthy. I would best describe it as mixing 75% JW Red with 25% JW Black. Better than Red, but not as good as Black. You can taste some of the undertones from Black, but the peat and smoke that make Black so popular are unfortunately absent.
