Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Tequila

Smooth, sweet, caramel notes, like a fine whiskey, but in a tequila.

This comes full circle for me since Cuervo is the sinister brand that has caused so many mutilated memories of what people think tequila is. Don’t get it twisted, this is crafted using old world methods and is additive free (I believe) - lots of great sweetness here in the form of vanilla and caramel. More of that vegetal agave hit than most extra Anejos but for me that’s not a bad thing at all. A nice sipper.

The best tequila I’ve ever tasted. It tasted less like tequila and more like a well balanced, rich, slightly vanilla whiskey. Great post dinner drink as a desert, worth every dollar!
