Peated Single Malt
Jura // Islands, Scotland
The peat level here is on par with Laphroaig at 40 ppm. The Prophecy they speak of regards a tale about an old woman seer. When she was cast off the Isle of Jura by the Campbell clan, she prophesied that the last Campbell to leave the island would do so with only one eye and all of their worldly possessions in a cart led by a white horse. Indeed, in 1938, over 200 years later, this came to pass. Note: As of early 2018, this has been discontinued.
Peated Single Malt100% malted barley from a single distillery. Dried with peat.
"The profile is largely full of peat smoke and is only mildly sweet at the core. Sea salt, Christmas pine, and Red Hot candies join in the fun. There is a noticeable oiliness that is true of all Jura bottlings."
