Kaiyō Japanese Mizunara Oak

This is my first “Japanese” whisky. Tastes pretty good. I was looking for that mizunara oak, but honestly I don’t know what mizunara actually smells like 🤷🏾‍♂️

My nose is out right now but the scent has some traces of wafer cookies and honey. Maybe a little spiky vegetation. Bit young maybe? Taste is silky smooth but not thin. Traces of a clove apple. The spikiness is still there so I still think young. Not dramatic but enjoyable. Probably won't reach for it too often, but will have to try again when my nose is back.

This smells like a cupcake it’s crazy. Comes through with a light smoky flavor. Overall pretty good
