Kavalan Solist Amontillado is the latest award-winning Kavalan with a unique sherry cask finish, utilizing Amontillado, little seen in the whiskey world. It's bottled at cask strength. Since these are single barrel, cask strength releases, the ABV will vary.
Expect 50-60% ABV. This expression debuted April 2017 in the US. Along with it were three additional new Solist expressions, Solist Manzanilla, Solist PX, and Solist Moscatel.

Tasting Notes
"Find a soft sherry influence on the nose, with nuts and honey, and a range of fruits. More of a rich sweetness on the palate with caramel and toffee, along with some spice and oak. More nuts and spice on a long, pleasing finish, as well as black pepper, oak, and caramel. Overall a much different sherry effect than typically experienced, as the cask's heritage promises."
