Reviewed December 2, 2021The nose is predominantly smokey with lovely hints of fruit and tobacco. The smoke comes out even more in the palette, but now with some spiciness and just a bit of caramel. The finish is surprisingly smooth with the smoke and spiciness lingering. -

Reviewed November 24, 2021 (edited January 3, 2022)This is non chill-filtered and natural color. The appearance is like a riesling wine. It’s very light in color. Nose: Light campfire smoke similar to the Lagavulin. Although, I remember more peatiness on the nose for the Lagavulin 16. Peach/pear, citrus, pineapple. Palate: Tropical fruits, white chocolate, smoke. Some mild vegetal notes and melon. Finish: I think there’s more to be desired in the finish. I find it a bit light. This leaves you with notes of sea water, black pepper, and the syrup from a jar of peaches. Also, some pleasant tobacco notes. Good representation from Kilchoman. This is my first whisky from this distillery and I’m very interested to try more of their expressions! Edit: Upon further tastings, I’m getting banana cream pie on the palate. I discovered this after a dram of Ardbeg Corryvreckan. This whisky tasted like liquid banana cream pie! -

Reviewed November 23, 2021 (edited January 3, 2022)Peat dominates the nose, but there's a lot more; ocean air, smoke, vanilla, honey, earth, wood, grain, pencil eraser and mint. Sweet and smoky on the palate, with peat, char, vanilla, sugar, oak, tropical fruit, citrus and caramel. Very nice. -

Reviewed November 18, 2021 (edited March 14, 2022)Nose: Sweet honey, stewed fruits, cherries, prunes, raisins, cinnamon, and hints of peat smoke. Palate: Stewed fruits, prunes, raisins, malts, oak, and baking spices - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and cardamom. Leathery, and sweet tobacco. Finish is medium, with sweet vanilla, baking spices - ending with leather, sweet tobacco and hints of oak. Final Thoughts: Good dram. Complex with good viscosity and well balance. -

Reviewed November 6, 2021Smokey bacon and leather in the nose. Spicy in the middle, but the aftertaste is not for me. Very briny slash bitter medical. Never again. 1 star for the nose
