Single Malt
Fuji-Gotemba // Chūbu, Japan
One of the largest distilleries in the world, Fuji-Gotemba lies at 2000 feet above sea level in the foothills of Mount Fuji in the Chūbu region of Japan. This cozy locale gives the distillery a cool climate with low-humidity, similar to the climate of Scotland.
Established in 1972 in Gotemba City, the distillery produces malt and grain whiskies primarily for Japanese blends. This bottling, one of the first destined for the international market, is distilled from malted barley imported from Ireland and Scotland, aged seventeen years before being bottled at 46% ABV.
