La Gritona Reposado Tequila
La Gritona Reposado Tequila is an additive-free tequila produced at NOM 1533 in Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco by Melly Barajas and her all-women team. It is made from 100% blue weber agave harvested at 9–10 years of age. The agave is steam cooked for 24 hours and rested before crushing, then fermented in stainless steel tanks and distilled twice in stainless steel stills with copper coils.
The tequila is rested for approximately 8 months in American whiskey barrels that are reused multiple times by the distillery to minimize oak influence and preserve the agave-forward profile. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). Each bottle is made from 100% recycled glass.
