Reviewed October 8, 2020 (edited April 12, 2022)The smoke scent is akin to that of smoked ham. In taste it's slightly sweet but overall it's smoke and peat that lives here. It's taste is incredibly pleasant and feels just right. The aftertaste sticks around for a decent while which makes the enjoyment last long. Currently my favorite on the shelf. -

Reviewed September 5, 2020 (edited March 17, 2021)A very enjoyable drink. I get smoke, phenols (like anise) and dried fruits on the nose. The intense smoke and salt flavours are very bright and sweet up front, giving a bit of a delay before smoke and salt gradually eases onto the palate. A peppery spice joins the smoke into the finish, along with honey and mild herbal notes. "Enjoyable" : 3.5 stars | Well above average. -

Reviewed August 18, 2020 (edited February 14, 2021)Nose – Start off with the trademark vegetal, yet cereal-like peat. Bit of cinnamon, apples, and ginger. Palate – Smoky, toffee/caramel, lemons but met with a metal-like minerality that was surprising. A bit harsh, not in an ABV manner, but astringency. Quite an acidic and abrupt end. Finish – Dry as a bone and subtly oily. Maybe a little bit of a seashell/brininess with little peat/smoke, but very much a letdown. Water – N – Took the peat away…vegetal notes brought forward. Grassy, maybe some roses and hay. P- Turns the caramel to more of a butterscotch…brings out black pepper/white pepper, but nothing else. No cream… Finish same. Oh my! NOT the Lagavulin we all know and love.... 2.0 is all I can give… 50 pounds = 62 dollars…62.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed July 25, 2020 (edited July 20, 2021)purchased in early sept 2019 on way back from trip. Amazing smokey smell. One of my favorites. Nice peaty taste and mouth feel. Gets the taste buds firing! 2 drops of water softens the bite greatly and opens up aroma to more earthy tones.Edinburgh Airport (EDI)
