This single malt is one of eight bottlings for Diageo’s 2021 Special Release collection. Each of the whiskeys was bottled at cask strength and were selected by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson.
With a “Legends Untold” theme for the collection, the brand selected digital illustrator Ken Taylor to design the packaging. Lagavulin 12 Year was matured in refill American oak casks and bottled at 56.5% ABV.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is what it must be like to smell seaweed cooked in a beach bonfire that's been slathered with fresh butter. The palate is rather spicy, with sharp black pepper, clove, and nutmeg tingling the palate behind more herbal elements of sweet thyme and tarragon. There's a meaty, maple glazed smoked ham with baked apples flavor in the midpalate, carrying through to a somewhat sweet-savory and peaty finish that's slightly hot, but satisfying. "
