Salty caramel and vanilla, followed by ripe fruits, though mainly including plum, raisins and apricots. It finishes with a bitter and spicy bite followed by a mellow bite of smoke that lingers enjoyably. A great introduction into the more heavily peated whiskeys. Certainly not a campfire, but maybe a wood burning stove. Cheers!
Very light peat on the nose, a distant bonfire, wet cobblestone on a rainy fall night. Apricot jam. On the tongue: Sea salt candy with a subdued peaty undertone throughout. Smoked oyster. Very soft and mellow.
