Reviewed December 26, 2014 (edited March 8, 2017)Great, mild, peaty start. Smells much stronger, but has a smooth taste! If it wasn't as pricey I'd be drinking this all winter. Definitely a must try. -

Reviewed December 25, 2014 (edited March 8, 2017)Lagavulin DE 1997 43% Double matured NOSE: spicy oak, light peat, sherry, caramel TASTE: earthy, smokey, salty, sherry Water - 2 drops water NOSE: cinnamon, oak, muddy earth TASTE: dark caramel, salt, sherry NOTE: water did not diminish the flavor of the 1997 1997 is very comparable to the 1991 which was equally outstanding -

Reviewed December 5, 2014 (edited March 8, 2017)Smoky on the nose with a hint of sweetness that will follow. Rich, full mouthfeel. Less peat on the palate than the 16, with more sweetness. Finish with oak, vanilla, and smoke. Long, satisfying, chewy finish. Superb
