Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask

A delicious smoky peaty pour, but tailed with a weird sweet finish. But not a good sweet, like a someone added a grams of sugar sweet.

Very drinkable, classic Lagavulin nose, mild peat. Not as much punch on the palate as I like from Islay. Maybe a good intro to Islay

Nose. Lots of BBQ smoke and meaty notes like undercooked pepper bacon. Palate. Not a lot of peatiness. Smoky, pepper spicy and citrusy. Medium length finish mostly of smoke and black pepper.

Peat & smoke. Megan can smell it across the dinner table just from what's eminating from the glass! Nice sweet butterscotch type finish.

The nose is wonderfully smoky with undercurrents of brine and a hint of fruit. The palette is subtler than expected, but is a fantastic blend of peat, vanilla, char, and spicy heat. The spiciness ramps up in the finish, as the smoke gives way to more honey and vanilla. Delicious.
