It's a rare thing when something actually lives up to the hype.
The nose reminded me of other peated malts I've tried already, maybe a little smokier and more iodine. To be honest not necessarily that inviting.
The minute this hit my palate though it was fireworks. Sweet and smooth, salty and oily, smokey and somehow also fruity.
The finish brings just a little heat, and then a lingering campfire, ocean mist.
To me this is more complex and refined as a 10 year than much older offerings I've had.
