Meaning “friendship” in Gaelic, Cairdeas was created for the Islay Whisky Festival back in 2013. This port wood edition is most notably characterized by its vibrant pink color. The distillery manager, John Campbell, uses 8-year first-fill used bourbon barrels and then finishes the whisky in half-butts or half-pipe port barrels (54 Gallons) for a further 16 months.

Tasting Notes

"The whisky begins with a jammy plum nose and hints of black currant and spice reminiscent of clove infused iodine. On the palate, savory pepper and peat. At 102.6 proof, the rich flavored ethanol sticks to your lips and burns ever so good. A crescendo-like smoky cigar box finish is firm and luxurious. "
