Reviewed May 7, 2026 (edited May 28, 2026)Nose is more gentle than expected, reminiscent of an older Ardbeg with the aura of richness versus the typical Laphroaig workshop by the sea. Dark fruits, dry grass, and dry peat smoke (as opposed to what I think of Laphroaig's typical wet smoke). Kind of like a Laphroaig-lite. The nose however, is not a setup for the palate - this hits hard, and in all the right places. Rusted metal, iodine, beachside bonfire and kelp drying on the beach in that rare burst of island sun bounce around your mouth like a mosh pit. Right about the time you think the only way to describe this is fantastically chaotic, it slows down, and the dark fruits from the nose peek around the corner sharing fresh black cherry, plum, and then dark cocoa powder before the finish leads to a dry, lightly smoky, close. This is the closest thing to the 2000's-era 15 year I've had to date. Not so much in the flavor profile, but in the way it is unashamed about giving all the flavors, all the time. This is a great drink, although I will freely admit it caters to those who adore the Laphroaig palate more so than someone who wants balance and elegance. I will buy every bottle I find, and keep an open one on my shelf for as long as possible. i recommend everyone who is a fan of Islay at least try it if they can.120.0 USD per Bottle -
