Sweet Vanilla and Caramel upfront on the palate, but quickly shifts to an ashy fire log with a nice black pepper. Has some nice buttery notes. The peppery finish lingers for a very long time. Excellent Islay and might even edge the Laphroaig 10 year cask strength for me, although that one is more complex in it's flavors. This is the bottle that got me hooked/excited about peated scotch when my neighbor introduced me to it while enjoying a summer campfire.
