Laphroaig Triple Wood
Single Malt
Laphroaig // Islay, Scotland
As the name implies, this whisky is triple matured. Aged initially in ex-bourbon barrels the whisky is then transferred to smaller casks (125 liters) to age for a short time.
Lastly, it is aged in European Sherry butts, initially in 1st fill casks then transferred to 2nd fill. No age statement for this bottling but, like the Quarter Cask, this is bottled at 96 proof and un-chillfiltered.

Tasting Notes
"The Sherry influence is the initial blast you experience with those raisin and nut aromas quite pronounced. Time has subdued the peat smoke to just a simmer and the aggressive woody notes found in the Quarter Cask have been tamed. There's a savory sweet barbecue note that is very appealing."
