Macallan 15 Year Triple Cask Matured

I've should have known better than to go for the tripple cask version of this 15 yo Macallan. Recently tried vs 4 other 15 yos including the Yoishi, Glengoyne, Glen Scotia and the Glendronach Revival. At the bottom of the pit we had the flat tasting Glengoyne and the bit sour Macallan. I expected a bit more from the Easter Elchies House of Scotland.

The nose is strong of straw, barley sugar, toasted oak and honey. The palate is full of straw, honey, a burst of pepper which all melds and comes together in a way that you’ve taken in a honey candy. The finish is medium with pepper that keeps buzzing in the mouth with honey, straw and oak that all gradually fades.
