Aug 2016 cask strength. Better on ice. Opens up maple and vanilla scents. Too much alcohol burn when neat

Oak Stave Selection by The Ghost - I

Caramel for days on the nose, but the palate brings more complexity, showing cherry cola, toast, and a hint of something like Champagne. Solid finish of honey and nuts, with some alcoholic shine to hold the sweetness in check. Well-rounded and enjoyable — it effortlessly totes the 54% ABV — but for my money it’s not really a step up from the excellent Maker’s 46.

10 mocha staves Nose: Smooth with a clean spice to it. Makes you want to keep trying it to try a pin point the different aromas. Pallet: It gets warm on the tongue Finish: This is where the chocolate come in and all the way through the finish. Very unique. You have to let it sit and breath, then all of the flavor comes out. Could only get one bottle but wish there was another.
