Maker's Mark Private Select Bourbon

1st Private Select - Total Wine - Staves - 3 French Seared Cuveè, 5 Roasted French Mocha, 2 Toasted French Spice

Good high proof bourbon. Fairly priced.

I have to start by saying that this bottle is delicious. Really great woodiness from the wood staves and the high proof goes well with the sweetness. Surprisingly smooth for the high proof. Cherry vanilla on the palate turning into cinnamon on the finish with a touch of mocha wood.

I waited until today to open this sample, HOWEVER, Brent Sherri Ross gave me a sneak peek last Friday. I found it to be rather yummy and was so excited for another sip tonight. I don't typically go for wheated bourbons. I am definently a rye spice dude. That said, this is so incredibly yummy. Great legs and mouthfeel. golden to amber in color. Nose: Cherries for days, caramel, a little oak, Palate: oak, a little spice, brown sugar. Finish: Strong with tastes of chocolate and tobacco. This is an excellent bourbon. This group does some amazing picks. 4.25/5
