I usually like Japanese whiskeys but wasn’t a huge fan of this one. It’s almost cloyingly sweet, and feels very light and with not much of a finish. I actually might share with with someone who didn’t like whiskey because it could be a decent introductory whiskey, but, otherwise, I probably wouldn’t recommend it over many other alternatives.
First sniff has notes of pears 🍐 and stewed fruit. First taste is very smooth and sweet whiskey with notes of caramel, toffee and possibly light chocolate notes
Flaviar Advent Calendar Day 9: A faint sweetness comes to the nose, but leaves much to wonder. On first taste tho there is a sweetness on the front end that I cant put my finger on. Adding a cube of ice really draws out the toffee and caramel flavors, very enjoyable
Nose - not a lot here, some sugar sweetness and toffee
Taste - poached pears and strawberries, some roasted almond, a bit of chocolate, sweet and rich
Finish - very short, mostly dry almond flavors, mild burn
